Alisdair is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. He started his career in 1991 on Lloyds Register’s Graduate Training Scheme and spent years working with all different types of marine vehicles, from hovercraft to semi-subs, all around the world. Alisdair moved to be Certification Manager for the Certification Services Department of AEA Technology in March 1997: the department which ultimately became HPiVS. Alisdair spent a short time as Business Development Manager at ABS before becoming a founding member of the CEproof group of CE marking consultants in 2001. In 2010 Alisdair sold CEproof and bought the AEA department which was renamed HPiVS. The company has been growing at a rate of 22% per annum ever since.  Alisdair sits on a variety of different British and International Standards committees and is Chair of the EU Commission’s (RSG) Technical sub-committee that provides the EU with guidelines for the design & construction of recreational craft and components.
