About the Awards 
We're celebrating the achievements of marine businesses and professionals from across the UK.  As the largest networking conference of its kind within our industry, the British Marine & Boating Business Awards are free to enter and open to all. Enter now 

With nominees securing a spot at the prestigious final and a chance to be crowned the winner of their category, this presents a great opportunity for widespread recognition.

The Awards ceremony will be taking place on the 15th March, at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham and will be attended by over 300 of our industry’s top decision-makers. Set to be a memorable evening, complete with a networking dinner, the Awards will be presented to the lucky winners by former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls.

You can self-nominate or nominate someone else. It is quick, free and easy to submit an Award entry, with just a couple of paragraphs required to provide a winning justification.

Entrants will be judged by a panel of leading business experts with a wealth of experience in their industry. Nominees for the Marine Innovation Award only will have the opportunity to present their work to all, with British Marine membership voting for the overall winner.

 

Award categories

About

The Media Innovation Award recognises outstanding work or an accomplishment in the field of professional marine media. This Award covers all forms of media, whether published in print, digital format or by means of a social media platform. Submissions may include journalism in the form of the written word, photographic or digital imagery, as well as film and video.

 

Submission Criteria

Please upload one example of your work in a digital format, ideally as a PDF or JPEG. A link will be provided within the submission form for direct links to your chosen piece.

 

Judging

Providing great exposure, shortlisted submissions will be shared with British Marine’s members for judging, comprising of 1,500 marine businesses!

This award recognises those newcomers to the industry who have spotted an opportunity and made it happen with success. It could be an innovative new product or service that has made a substantial impact or contribution to our industry or the business that they work for, a new practice that has led to significantly improved customer service levels or a workplace initiative that has made a substantial difference to the environment the nominee and their colleagues operate in.

Judging

Entries will be judged by marine industry experts James Ward, CEO at Marine Resources, Ken Hickling, Non-Executive Director at Viking Maritime Group, Paul Martin, Associate Director at First Peninsula Corporation, Robert Parton, Managing Director at Aqueduct Marina, Stephen Hills, Commercial Director at Pendennis Shipyard and Tracey Jefkins, Head of Human Resources at Premier Marinas.

About

The Scott Deverell Young Business Person of the Year will recognise someone who has made a difference to their business over the last year - those eligible for this award must be under 40 on the day of the presentation.

The Woman in the Marine Industry Award will recognise a woman who has made a significant contribution to the marine industry over the last year.
